Ashbrooke Sports Club is the proud home of...

Cricket

Sunderland CC has adult 1st, 2nd & 3rd teams playing in the NEPL plus four junior teams playing at U11, U13, U15 & U18 level in the Durham Cricket League. Junior coaching sessions take place indoors/outdoors throughout the year.

Bowls

The bowls club is a is a mixed club catering for gentlemen and ladies of all ages and experiences.

Rugby Union

Sunderland Rugby Club was a founding member of the Rugby Football Union and one of the world's oldest rugby clubs, entering its 150th year in the 2023 /2024 season.

With a thriving junior section and fielding three senior men's teams, the club continues to grow and is always on the lookout for new players and volunteers.

Strollers

Sunderland Strollers is a sociable running club with a sense of humour which is based at Ashbrooke Sports Club.

We have over 300 members with 40% women and an age range from 21-72.

 

Take running as seriously as you like. Some members never race, while others race most weeks at distances from 5km to Ultra Marathon.

Hockey

Established in 1891 the club boasts an impressive history.
Sunderland Broom hockey club believe hockey is more than just a game; with Sunderland Broom it is a life experience!
The club is based at Ashbrooke Sports Club and operate three mens and a ladies team plus mixed and junior teams. Both the men’s and ladies teams train on Monday nights at Sandhill View School Sports Centre 6:30 to 8:30 pm and play league matches at weekends. The juniors receive their coaching every Tuesday afternoon 5 – 6pm and on Saturday mornings 9:30 to 10:30 am at Sandhill throughout the year (in the indoor hall when it gets cold!) and also play tournament hockey.
All training is free for the first 3 sessions so why not come and give it a go!
